These exploratory discussions took place during a workshop and benchmarking session that brought together senior management from both companies to identify various opportunities for synergy and business development on July 29–30, 2026, in Singapore.
The workshop was led directly by IAS Commercial Director Muchdian Muchlis, along with IAS Director of Operations Danny P. Thaharsyah. The event was also attended by the Commercial Director and Director of Operations of PT IAS Hospitality Indonesia (IASH), the Director of PT Gapura Angkasa, and the Senior Executive Group Head of Cargo & Logistics at IAS.
IAS Commercial Director Muchdian Muchlis said that collaborating with companies that have global networks and experience is part of the company’s strategy to strengthen its capabilities while opening up opportunities for business development in international markets.
“We hope that this workshop between IAS and DNATA will serve as the first step toward more concrete collaboration. The two companies have a number of complementary business lines, so there is ample opportunity to exchange knowledge, experience, and best practices, while also identifying various business opportunities that can be developed together,” said Muchdian.
According to him, the benchmarking initiative with DNATA also serves as an opportunity for IAS to gain a global perspective on the management of aviation services, ranging from the implementation of operational standards and productivity improvements to service quality and the development of business models that can adapt to industry dynamics.
This move is in line with IAS’s aspiration to continue improving the company’s performance while expanding its business footprint in the aviation sector at both the regional and global levels.

Currently, the draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IAS and DNATA is in the final stages of preparation before being discussed further by the two companies.
